Universal Steel has Manganese steel plates available in stock in grade X120Mn12, thicknesses from 2 mm up to and including 35 mm. Manganese steel in X120Mn12 is widely used when the wear resistance of constructional grades is too low. This material is therefore often used for the production of agricultural machinery, safes and blast cabinets.
The manganese steel grade X120Mn12 differs from the manganese steel grade 42MnV7 in that the material does not need to be tempered. X120Mn12 actually becomes harder through use.
